New England Region Holds Off Mid-Atlantic Region, 7-6

Mid-Atlantic’s effort to come back from down five runs in the sixth inning came up just short, as they fell 7-6 to New England on Thursday. Mid-Atlantic scored four runs in the failed comeback on a error, a single by Tai Mann, and a home run by Chris Cartnick.

Mid-Atlantic collected seven hits and New England had 11 in the high-scoring affair

New England took an early lead in the first inning. Tyler Bauer singled on a 1-1 count in the first inning, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the first inning, Mid-Atlantic tied things up at one. Mid-Atlantic scored one run when Tai Mann homered with one out in the first inning.

New England took the lead for good with one run in the second inning. In the second there was an error, scoring one run.

Mid-Atlantic scored four runs in the sixth inning. Mid-Atlantic scored on a error, a single by Tai, and a home run by Chris Cartnick.

Ethan Righter earned the win for New England. He threw three and two-thirds innings, giving up two runs, four hits, and striking out seven. Two relievers helped New England close out the victory. Michael Iannazzo threw two innings. Tyler recorded the last out to earn the save for New England. Garrett Drew took the loss for Mid-Atlantic. He pitched two and a third innings, giving up four runs, six hits, striking out two, and walking one.

Home runs for Mid-Atlantic came when Tai homered in the first inning and Chris homered in the sixth inning.

Chris and Tai each collected multiple hits for Mid-Atlantic. Tai and Chris each drove in two runs to lead Mid-Atlantic.

Tyler, Ethan, and Matthew Vivona each collected multiple hits for New England.
